Easily the most talked about ski resort in Michigan, Mount Bohemia is a must-do for any skier looking for a challenge. Located in the tip top of the Keweenaw Peninsula in the UP, Mount Bohemia offers an expert only experience. No groomers and natural snow conditions offer up an authentic experience of an annual 250 inches that fall there. Steep tree stashes packed with powder along with rocks and cliffs are the real deal. Only two chairs deliver you to 900 vertical foot drops.
If you happen to ski down in between the chairs (which I recommend) a bus will pick you up on the access road and drop you off at the triple for another lap. Mount Bohemia also consists of nearby Voodoo Mountain, which is the only snow cat skiing operation east of the Rockies, and is available on a separate ticket.
Staying at one of the Mountain Cabins or Yurts is a quite the treat if you call ahead and make a reservation. The Log Cabin Bar offers up a fantastic apres scene that is known to rage well into the night with guests staying just a few steps away. The wood fired pizza is a great option for the munchies. New to BoHo this season is the largest hot tub in the UP. This jumbo-sized delight is adjacent to the bar and has the capacity for up to 30 people. This is a great place to swap powder stories and make new friends.
